I often get asked what I think the best Milwaukee wedding venues are. If you are from or have spent any time in Milwaukee, you know how beautiful it is. There are so many unique spots to choose from, which makes planning a wedding here super fun! But as a bride-to be, it can be hard to choose or even know where to start. St. James 1868 is a brand new property in Milwaukee featuring two venues that are decidedly European. If you adore historic buildings with character, this is the spot for you! With two different spaces to choose from, St. James 1968 is sure to make all your dreams come true. And no need to worry about having another wedding crash yours—care has been taken to ensure that there is no guest overlap when both buildings are booked at the same time.
The Abbey: Create your fantasy English wedding right here in Milwaukee! The former church boasts original stained-glass windows and hardwood floors, 15th Century hand-carved panels, and antique light fixtures. My favorite part of this venue is that the walls are white, which makes a HUGE difference in photos. White bounces back onto the skin and creates the dreamy, clean skin tones that I adore.
The Hyde: A former parish gymnasium, The Hyde is an open, airy, feast of light thanks to the vaulted loft space and expansive windows. Plan an outdoor wedding on the terrace or an indoor wedding in the incredible main hall. Whatever your vision, this venue will bring it to life. And, bonus, if you decide to hold your celebration outdoors and it rains, your wedding will still be awesome!
Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum:
This venue looks over Lake Michigan and will make your guests think they are at a destination wedding. Seriously, this place looks like it was dropped here from the middle of the Italian countryside! Rent the Great Hall, the Terrazzo della Luna, or the Mercury Courtyard. Then stroll through the Renaissance Garden, a romantic greenspace with an Italian flare.
The Covenant at Murray Mansion:
The venue is actually located in Racine, Wisconsin, but trust me, IT’S WORTH THE DRIVE. It has an old southern charm and features those white walls that I love. Originally a church, it has been completely renovated to function as a contemporary ceremony, reception, and events space.
With beautiful stained glass windows, massive vaulted ceilings and a 14-foot pipe organ bar, it makes a lovely, unique space for your wedding day. The mansion is connected to the venue and character can be found everywhere. This is a perfect spot for smaller, intimate affairs.
For the dream country wedding, choose this charming, rustic barn set on 20 acres of beautiful gardens. You can even stay overnight or house out of town guests in the restored 4-bedroom Victorian home. Although there’s a multitude of barn wedding venues to choose from in Wisconsin, The Farm at Dover is truly unique.
Now you can have a downtown wedding without sacrificing your love of nature. Their beautiful rooftop garden provides a perfect backdrop for your guests, and of course, the incredible photos that will commemorate your love.
Ivy House is a brand new venue in Milwaukee that’s modern and industrial. If you’re looking to get creative, be sure to put this place on your list—there’s so much potential here!
Villa Filomena is an elegant, historic mansion that has been converted into a wedding venue while still maintaining the beauty and charm of the original manor. Larger weddings belong in The Chandelier Ballroom where you’ll be romanced by twenty-six crystal chandeliers. Or head to The Garden Terrace, an Italian-inspired private outdoor space that can accommodate around 125 guests. If you’ll be having an intimate affair, The Fitzgerald Parlor Room might be just what you’re looking for. Whatever room you choose will accent your classically-styled wedding.
